Her global acumen enabled her to develop a strong network of professionals around Europe and in Cyprus, and an intuition of the sensitivities of working in a multi-cultural environment.

Her approach when it comes to providing assurance, tax and consulting services is not only to ensure the validity and legality of the financial records and comply with the relevant legislation, but also recommend risk aversion measures and cost saving strategies.

Apostolena holds a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics, is a member of ICPAC and a Fellow Chartered Accountant (member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales).

Experience to share:

Stepping outside my comfort zone professionally to participate in the European IFRS debate has been extremely rewarding. It has enabled me to grow professionally through stretching myself to think, write, present to technical expert groups on how regulation should be molded for the years to come from a standard setting point-of-view. This required factoring in the need to make the process of issuing new regulation evidence-based, how to increase investors confidence in the financials presented and how to enhance the understandability of the users when implementing the new regulation.

Working with gurus in the IFRS arena was just the icing on a very sweet cake!
